Review
Firstly, my sister phoned me in October 2004 asking what are you doing for your birthday. As its in February I hadn't really thought much on this. Then she said Rammstein are playing in Nottingham on your birthday. So I just said 'alright then'. At this stage we only had the Mutter CD and didn't know much else about Rammstein! So we didn't know what to expect when we saw them and boy weren't we in for a treat and one not likely to forget!
I suppose the fans at the gig provide a good insight of what the band are like and when we saw this man wearing a gas mask, we did stand in wonder! Ha ha ha....help!!!
We have to admit that we did enjoy Apocalyptica as the support act, especially as we are fans of Metallica. The pressure on our chests from the cello's was amazing.
The intro to Reise, Reise was soon in our ears and very chilling, the roadies emerged with bats. Gawd blimey, then the Ramm boys appeared!! What a lovely surprise, as we were standing on Paul's side (cheeky boy). I noticed the guy on the right side of the stage and thought um umm, ja ja the only downside was that Richard didn't move around the stage more. We were blown away, literally by all the pyros the stage presence, lighting and it just went so quick. I guess most fans will agree with this!
Through all of it we were in a daze just so much going on the heat from the pyros well, you know. We loved Flake's dance through 'Los' he seemed very enthusiastic, We love the humour!
Well it was such an eye opener, we just had to see them again and soon! Just to prove how good they were I promptly ordered Herzeleid, Sehnsucht, Reise Reise CD's and the Lichtspielhaus and Live Aus Berlin DVD's.
So there starts our search on the Internet for the next gigs. We were very tempted to go to Nimes in France on 23rd July 2005, but we said wouldn't it be good if we saw them in their homeland especially after watching them live at the Wuhlheide on the DVD many times.
