For my first concert ever, what a band to pick. I arrived at Hammerstein Ballroom at 7:00pm with my 2 friends, and met my 3rd friend on the front of the line. I thought it was the coolest thing when I was surrounded by people wearing Rammstein shirts. Lol. Some people were handing out Rammstein promo cards, I grabbed a bunch, I'll have the ticket stub, and the promo cards scanned soon. The doors then opened at 7:45 and I got patted down, yet not thoroughly, so I regretted not bringing a camera. I immeaditly ran to where they were selling stuff and I bought a Richard Kruspe (sonne video) shirt with tour dates. After that we all ran to the floor and got a spot 10 feet from the stage. I'll skip through Crossbreed and Godhead, because who cares? Note: I only wrote what I remembered.
5/4- After Godhead left I was waiting not patiently for Rammstein, I could see christoph's drums with the R logo the whole time, that was such a tease. Finally the lights go off and Flake comes out with a lab coat on looking around by his futuristic looking keyboard setup. He then walks around for a little while, and the beginning keyboard sounds to 5/4 start. He then brings out one member at a time all wearing nothing but white diapers. I think the order was Oliver, christoph, Paul then Richard. Paul came out fighting , the rest came out like zombies. Oh man seeing Richard 10ft away, I almost died.
Mein Herz Brennt: after 5/4 all the band members ran off stage and then immeaditly all came out in their stage outfits ( the black ones). The music and prerecorded lyrics started, then Till sang the 2nd half of the begging. He then yelled "MEIN HERZ BRENNT!" Lights flashed and the music came on with a blast. After the guitar solo Tills heart on his chest lit up and he pulled it off and yelled " MEIN HERZ BRENNT!" and it caught on fire and sparked and flamed for a good min. It was awesome.
Links:- Links was the 2nd song. It's my favorite off the new album. It was really heavy and a little faster then the album. He kept waving his arms and making funny faces. Before the guitar solo, they stopped the music and yelled LINKS and the crowd roared AH!!!! a few times. The solo wasn't played on someone's shoulders but right on the stage where Richard usually stands.
Feuer Frei : ( I cant remember the order of songs after Links but this is how it roughly is) The song went normally nothing special untill after the part when it's all slow Till and Flake had masks on. Till's shot 10 ft flames every time he yelled BANG BANG, and Flakes shot water. At the end of the song for pause and the last bang bang Christoph stood up and shot to guns.
Sehnsucht: There were 4 rows of explosions on the top of the stage, and the music started. I couldn't really make out if he hit himself in the head or not cause the moshpit was quite rough. Everyone sung along to the ahhhuhahhhuhahhh ohhh ahhm ya know.
Weisses Fleisch: Till jumped out in his flame boots. Flake did his old Live aus Berlin dance. Nice! At one point during the concert, I think it was during this song, Christophs rums were on fire and sparked, but I don't remember. The rest same as Live aus berlin.
Rein Raus: nothing special really happened in this song, besides Till constantly grabbing his crotch and doing thins like that. Heh. Everyone was yelling Rein RAUS. I am surprised that at least ¾ of the people new the lyrics to all the their songs.
Adios: Flake was on drums, since there was no keyboard in Adios. With every hit of flakes drum, water shot out. During Richard's solo, his guitar was on fire. And I don't care what anybody says, the fire looked like it was out of control but he played it cool as if nothing was wrong and the song was excellent.
Asche zu Asche: My favorite Rammstein song!!! This song is unbeleiveable. Paul started out in front by himself playing the begging for about 3 seconds in the beiging his guitar went out but quickly came back on, then Ricahrd came out next to him and they played. Richard learned over a little and put his hands out in front of him with a very serious and scary ICH KOMM WEIDER. Then after his part he nodded his head and looked around, like he knew he was a badass lol. The mic stands went on fire from the middle to the end of the song. ASCHE!!
Heirate Mich: I was expecting this song, I don't know why, but I was happy they played it, this song is really cool. Nothing special I don't think , happened. Everyone of course yelled HEI HEI HEI! Including me, I sang my ass off that night.
Stripped: lol I saw a lot of people puzzled to see Till sitting at the edge of the stage singing in English. He was good and pronounced everything right and the song was cool.
Mutter: In the beginning instrumental part Till was sucking his thumb the whole time. Nothing special happened , Mutter!!
Zwitter: AWESOME live song. It was really hard and fast.Olli did this weird dance in the back where he just kept lifting his legs really high one by one. Richard at one point had a roadie bring him his guitar and he acting like it was the wrong one so he threw it into a speaker and the speaker blew up. At the 2 minutes of the song, the heavy guitar and slow drums the whole band with the exception of christoph as up in front at the edge of stage headbanging like you wouldn't believe.
Du hast: Everyone sang along to the WHOLE song. One thing surprised me, no phone. Oh well ,the 15ft FLAMES that rose up every time the keyboard voice went "jaaaaaaa" made up for it!
Encore-15 minutes
Rammstein: Flake was by himself for a little while playing with the sounds they use for the song Rammstein, which sounded really cool. Then the lights go off and everyone is on stage including Till, when the guitars start and Till goes Rammstein for the first time his suit pretty much exploded into flames. Around the middle to end of the song Till took off his fire jacket and his legs where on fire. Everyone was link OMG including the band members the guitars shut off and Flake ran down with a "fire extinguisher " and shot Till with it only to realize it was a "flame thrower" and he was engulfed in flames and he fell to the ground, everyone was still saying omg. He then got up after a min to reveal he was wearing a mask and a protective suit the whole time so everything was all good. That was cool!
Sonne: Very hard, very beautiful. Everyone held up the number of fingers Till yelled.
Ich will: Richard and Paul said the Ich Will. The crowd didn't know the lyrics, so they just yelled every time they knew it was there part. Nothing too special.
Pause
Pet Cemetary: The Romones and the Misfits were out their. Paul, Oli and Christoph watched from the side, while Richard, Flake and Till played and sang along with them. The misfits guy was really lame, but Flake singing was interesting, I like change once and a while.
Totally an awesome concert! Deffinatly the greatest experience of my life. I can't think of a greater feeling then seeing all the guys for Rammstein in person. ( especially Richard , because he rules sorry I just had to throw that in there lol ) The guys came out and thanked everyone before and after Pet Cemetery and when Till was trying to introduce everyone from all the bands, the crowd was really loud with excitement and he said "shut up" in this German accent, he sounds really different when he talks English. Exellent Concert, can't wait until they come back, thanks guys!
