Review

I found out about Rammstein coming to Indy on June 10th and I figured it was going to kick ass. They had two dates in Indy but due to problems, I could only go to the one closest to my area. I constantly looked for new info regarding the concert dates and times. I shortly found out Rammstein was going to be playing in the yearly thing. This year it was called "Xfest 2k1". A bunch of bands would also be there as well. Since there are so many people that go to these yearly concerts, I knew my chances of getting a good seat just to see Rammstein were slim. When the tickets went on sale I got the best seats I could, only they were in the upper pavilion area. I was a little mad but I knew just seeing Rammstein would be worth it. As I counted down the days and hours I had left a week before the concert I was told by my friends that they wanted to go as well. I informed them that I had already bought my ticket and that they were out of the lower pavilion seats and in the upper pavilion and lawn area. My friends replied that they would get the tickets and we set up a mode of transportation. My friend would be driving us there and back. The day before the concert, I worked an 8 hour shift at work and came home to have my friend call me and say that her and her friend didn't get the tickets and spent their concert money on online auctions. That just brightened my day and I just started getting ready for July 29th. I woke around 9 in the morning and got dressed and was getting a cooler ready to put in my car and trying to figure out the best route to take. I left arouns 9:45 and heading to Verizon Wireless center in Noblesville Indiana and got there around 10:30am. The parking lots opened around 10:45am and parking was free. I parked my car and started getting out of my car and hid a camera in my shirt by the belt buckle and procceeded up to the main enterance. I stood in line until noon and went to the secong stage and just started talking to these people about the events today and then turned back and started back the way I came and decided since I had nothing better to do, I would go "Rammstein Shopping". I ended up buying a shirt with the tour dates on the back and Richard on the front. I also bought 3 keychains. I figured if one broke, I would have a back up. I put my shirt onover my other shirt and then took off the shirt under the Rammstein shirt and then decided to check out my seat for the main stage. I found it and sat in it for about an hour since the concert did not offically start until 2:30pm. Around 2:45pm the band known as Zoo Story started playing on the main stage, so I figured I might as well watch them. I can't really remember what was after them because I went to the second stage where Static-x was playing. They were pretty good but all I really saw half the time was the crowd surfers. After I got tired of seeing people puke next to me and such, I procceeded back to my seat to sit down and relax and watch Lifehouse. They were also pretty good. After them I went back to the second stage(again) to see Linkin Park. They were really the best band I have seen all day. When Linkin park was almost done, I knew that if I really wanted autographs by Rammstein, I would get in line now.All this was around 7:30-7:45 pm. I knew that they would be doing autographs before Rammstein so I let some people go ahead of me. When I knew they their time for signing autographs was alomost up, I just stood in line and met these two wonderful women that were also waiting for Rammstein Autographs. We had a nice conversation and I ended up buying another Mutter cd and got a poster for Rammstein to sign and a copy of their "Links234" and "Sonne" videos. When Rammstein arrived, the crowd went wild and push came to shove and I almost hit someone. But I was nice and just glidding in front of them wen they tried to cut me. When I was close enough to get good shots of the band, andother person tried to push me out of line and I couldn't take the pushing anymore so I just pushed back. My mood quickly changed when I got up to the booth and Richard was there with a big smile on his face and I had him sign my poster and a copy of the "Mutter" booklet. He looked up at me and smiled and I thanked him and next was Flake, then Paul, Christoph and,(my fav) Till. I thanked him as well and for some reason, Oliver was not there. I walked off a very happy person and procceeded once again to my seat. The band that was next was Live and after them was Rammstein. Live was pretty good, and I was very happy to have them end. My whole summer was waiting at this very moment. To my surprise though, they only gave Rammstein about 50 mins to play. Rammstein started right up with Mein Herz Brent. That much I remember, I know what songs were played but the order i can't remember. They include Links, Feuer Frei, Ich Will, Adios, Heirate Mich, Sehnsucht, Rein Raus, Zwitter, and Du hast. People thought it was over after Du hast and they started leaving. Anybody that had brains would know that if they were done, that the lights would come back on. Shortly after Flake came back on stage and turned the light on above his keyboard it was Asche zu Asche and shortly after that was Sonne. Since they ran out of time, they could not do anything else. Since this was my first Rammstein experience I was very happy for the ringing in my ear was caused by them. I did take pictures but you can't really see anything in them. I just know that the people around me probably became deaf for a while because of the loud fan Screaming the lyrics and Rammstein all night.
