Review

I was in the Helsinki-concert with two of my friend, and ve we´re excited like hell. our seats weren´t that good, pretty far from the stage, and we had to look to the right all the time (I'would have killed for a field-ticket..) Exilia, the warm-up band wasn´t so much to our taste and we talked during allmost the whole show. After that, a 30-minutes brake and then the lights go off. Men in bussines-suits, whit baseballbats and flashligths, walk around the stage. Soon the background noises, and finally the harmonica of Reise, reise starts to play. This goes on for about five minutes and then BANG!, the curtain falls and bright lights start to flash as the main riff kicks in. Richard, Paul, Christopher, Flake and Olli play about two metres above the stage on a platform. After the main riff, a door in the middle of the stage starts to open and Till walks on to the stage with a bit comical, army-like steps. Reise, reise didnt get so much of a warm welcome as an opening song, and in fact, me and my friends were allmost the only people standing(except the field, of course.) But then, after a brief moment of silence, the entire hall screams, everyone stand up, and my head is about to explode, as the march-steps of Links 2-3-4 start to shake the whole place. Its impossible to describe how it feels on that situation.. God..

But, enough of my musical orgasms. Keine lust was played with minimal special effects, even though it was still awesome. Morgenstern was very impressing. In one point in the chorus, a row of extremely brightly burning lightballs fell to the back-part of the stage. They were so bright, that it was impossible to look straight at them. I`m not sure, but what i have learned on the physics classes, i think it was magnesium. But, whatever it was, it looked great.

During Amerika, red-white-blue light behind the band looked a lot lige the U.S.A flag, and during the last chorus, same coloured paperpieces were shot to the crowd. (like during Laichzeit on Live aus Berlin) Till also msde a kind of a strong statement during the song: "Fucking Amerika! and Fucking Mickey Mouse!"...

Mein Teil.. Now that was a one-of-a-kind stage show. Till shows up wearing a bloody apron, with two knives(other serves as a microphone) in his hand. He then stuffs Flake in to a giant kettle(not sure what´s the right word, but i yhink that´ll do). He then lights a bonfire below it using his flamethrower. After cooking in the kettle for awhile, Flake jumps out and starts running around the stage. He´s wearing a black suit and has little explosions all-over his body. It looked really strange, and pretty dangerous, but, they´re Rammstein afterall.

Rest of the songs were played, whit the usual fire fountains. What I can remember, they played allmost every song from Mutter(except Mein herz brennt, Mutter, Adios, Spieluhr and Nebel), Rammstein from Herzeleid(whitout the pyrojacket, unfortunately.) Du hast and Engel from Sehnsucht and everything except Dalai Lama and Amour from Reise, reise. During Los, Schneider had a special, smaller drum-kitt carried to the front of the stage, Paul and Richard had acoustic guitars and Flake had a harmonica. One odd thing in the concert: they played Stripped and had the boat from Seemann carried over the audience. Thats kinda a dissapointment, cause i would have really wanted to hear Seemann, but we were also lucky, cause they don´t play Stripped that often.
